Proper design, preparation, and construction of a playground is a challenge to provide users with a fun, stimulating, safe, and optimally utilized play space! That is why, when planning a children’s playground and selecting equipment, it is crucial to consider:
-
- When selecting equipment for a children’s playground, it is necessary to consider the entire area and choose equipment that, together with its safety zone, can provide safe and uninterrupted play within the designated space.
- The safety zone and the maximum possible fall height determine the thickness and area for installing impact-absorbing surfacing. It is important to specify the playground surface in advance. The choice of surface affects earthworks and preparation of the playground as well as the construction of the equipment, especially regarding the foundation of load-bearing elements and other preparatory work.
- It is necessary to prepare a sociogram of users, i.e., analyze potential users by age groups. This helps select the type of equipment with appropriate play values. Some equipment is suitable for the youngest children (nursery), others are intended for older children (kindergarten), and others for school-age children or teenagers.
- Certain equipment is designed for individual users, while some are for groups of children. The expected number of users on the playground also guides the selection and placement of equipment. Such an approach to design allows a wide range of children’s activities, with diverse equipment offering various play values, positively influencing children’s cognitive and motor skills (swinging, climbing, sliding, crawling, balancing, moving, didactic games, communication, etc.).
- The financial framework of the investment and the project deadline also affect equipment selection. Standard equipment can be delivered and installed quickly, while custom-designed equipment tailored to the investor’s vision requires longer preparation.
- These parameters and applicable safety standards provide guidelines for designing and building a safe children’s playground. Park Life can assist you with its knowledge and experience in designing and executing playgrounds. Design is conducted by defining the types and dimensions of equipment considering the boundaries of the playground area, their placement within the space, specifying safety zones and maneuvering space, all aimed at providing a variety of activities and play. The main task is to create a playground that meets the needs of different target user groups and ensures children’s safe outdoor stay.
- After defining the equipment for the playground, we proceed with preparing technical specifications and/or documentation, which we will provide so that you can prepare the site before installing the equipment. A site visit and communication between our experts, the investor, and construction contractors will be organized to ensure smooth project execution within the planned deadlines.
