Kutina is building the first smart children’s playground in Croatia
Kutina is the first city in Croatia to announce a public tender for the development of a smart and digital children’s playground, following the trends of green and digital technology. The company Park Life from Ivanić-Grad was selected as the most favorable contractor (775,000 kuna).
– Today, we signed the second of a total of three contracts that we will sign as part of the project for building a kindergarten in Kutina, with a total value of 22.5 million kuna, which the City of Kutina is mostly financing with its own funds. I expect the construction of the kindergarten to start at the end of this month, or possibly at the beginning of August. This contract we signed for the construction and equipping of the kindergarten is especially interesting because it includes a children’s playground that belongs to the so-called smart playgrounds. It will have slightly different equipment compared to usual playgrounds, and it will also have an educational character,” said Mayor Zlatko Babić.
The idea of a smart playground was also addressed by Goran Rajčević, the director of Park Life, who explained what exactly this means:
– Through play and education, we want to create a clean, smart, green, digital, and self-sustaining environment that will be enjoyed not only by children but also by their parents, tourists, passersby, and ultimately the whole local community. Although smart and digital playground equipment already exists, we believe that we will be the first to unite them in the concept of a self-sustaining, smart, and digital children's playground. We have combined education, healthy child development, renewable energy sources, and digital possibilities in order to motivate the youngest to play in a completely innovative and creative way.”
The project is also being implemented with the financial support of the Central State Office for Demography and Youth.
