We built the first STEM park in Croatia

As part of the STEM(AJMO) project, the first STEM park in Croatia was set up in Rijeka. The STEM park is located at Klobučarić Square, in front of Nikola Tesla Elementary School.

By opening STEM parks and STEM laboratories, the aim is to introduce children and young people to scientific disciplines from an early age and to make them interesting, enabling interdisciplinary learning through a combination of various STEM fields needed to solve numerous challenges of today’s society.

The STEM park is primarily intended for children aged two to twelve, and its goal is to enable exploration of STEM fields through fun.

The park features a planetarium, tangram, abacus, convex and concave mirrors, an enigma puzzle, a movement learning board, a natural science station, movement on a truncated cone, the Pythagorean theorem with a sundial, and a 3D solar system. With these installations, it is possible to leave encrypted messages, observe the sky of the northern hemisphere, explore the solar system, learn basic and advanced math operations, connect local animals with their habitats, examine various objects under a magnifying glass, monitor the local climate, and many other activities.
